当地木瓜跟其它产区不同，树枝上面有刺，白露以后对进入休眠期的木瓜苗进行移栽（和其他春季种植的树木相比比较特殊），在每年入伏的第一天开始采摘，历时一个月。

这是一颗树龄已有几十年甚至上百年的木瓜树，十几年的盛果期过后，种植户会把老化的枝干砍掉，根部会继续长出新的树干，木瓜树算是一种一劳永逸的树木。
